Robbers Ask for Directions, Then Pull Gun, Police Say

Two men robbed another man at gunpoint after asking him for directions on Ridge Avenue on May 13, police said. 

A man told police that while he was in the 9000 block of Ridge Avenue at around 7:30 p.m., an older model pickup truck pulled up beside him, and the men inside the truck asked for directions.

While the complainant gave directions, one of the robbers from the truck exited the vehicle and pointed a silver handgun at the complainant, police said.

The robber then proceeded to go through the complainant’s pockets and took several items, police said. 

The robber then returned to the truck, turned the vehicle around and sped southbound on Ridge. 

The stolen items included an iPod, $40 and a prescription for Klonopin, police said.
