Here's what LaBan had to say about the West Lancaster Avenue pizza and steak shop:
Chef-owner Treley Parshingtsang's repertoire of hearty dumplings is impressive, from firecracker momos sauced with crackling spice to Himalayan momos whose pleated peaks rise just above a balanced house curry sauce laced with cilantro stems. But these are only some of the draws to the saffron-colored dining room of this friendly BYOB. There are gingery brown rounds of handmade gyuma sausage made from blood and sweet rice, and flaky, moon-shaped meat pies. Parshingtsang’s stir-fries are simultaneously delicate and bold, including an eggplant gha that radiates sweet garlic, an irresistible pork belly with leeks, and tender chicken bobbing in Tibetan red onion curry fragrant with cinnamon.
White Yak, located at 6118 Ridge Ave., is the only Roxborough- and Manayunk-area restaurant to make the list and boasts 4.7 stars out of 689 reviews on Google.
"This is one of Philadelphia’s ELITE gems," one reviewer wrote. "BYO and phenomenal food."
"Everything was flavorful and fresh, the restaurant was clean and smelled great, and the service was good," another said.
"Highly recommend," one person wrote in their review. "Home cooked flavours. Tried a variety of items on the menu and everything was great."
