Smoke from Port Richmond Scrap Fire Fills Sky
Crews battled a fire Monday night in a scrap yard near the train tracks in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.

A thick cloud of smoke enveloped the sky above a scrap metal yard in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia Monday night, according to images from social media users.
6-ABC says that the fire started at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the K&A Salvage Yard near the train tracks on the 2100 block of East Somerset Street.
The blaze sparked on a 10-foot-high trash pile, according to NBC Philadelphia. There has been no word of any injuries. The fire was contained at approximately 8:45 p.m., according Fox 29 Philly.
