Salisbury Student Video Wins $1,000 for Charity

Casey Creveling and Alan Mendez co-wrote song, shot video, to benefit Race for Adam Foundation.

won $1,000 for charity by getting the most votes in 1G for Good, a local contest sponsored by First Generation, a multimedia marketing firm in Allentown.

Casey Creveling and Alan Mendez, both juniors, wrote an original song, "Tomorrow Afternoon" for their video, "Race for Adam," to benefit the Race for Adam Foundation. The video, one of three finalists, won with 136,000 votes, First Generation announced Thursday

Creveling shot the video in the two days before finals last spring, then edited it and submitted it to the contest. Mendez recorded all the vocals and the drums and Creveling recorded both guitars.

The students entered the contest to help Adam Recke, the son of a who suffers from a rare disease, Niemann-Pick Type C. The Race for Adam Foundation helps all families dealing with Niemann-Pick Type C disease and promotes awareness.
