Cheap Eats: Subway, Sheetz and Giant Eagle Market District

Consumers feeling the pinch often resort to eating out less to save money.

According to a report in the Nation's Restaurant News, nationwide restaurant sales and traffic improved in January, but restaurant consumers pulled back slightly from a willingness to spend. 

Restaurants are offering plenty of cheap eats these days to entice customers who want to spend less. 

Here are some deals you can find in the Sewickley area: 

• Subway is offering a 6-inch submarine sandwich for $3 throughout March. 

• Wendy's offers a "Right Price, Right Size" menu that starts at 99 cents. 

• In addition to its value menu, Burger King is offering two for $5 deals on select sandwiches.

• Giant Eagle Market District in Robinson Township has Family Dinner Nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Two children ages 12 and under can eat free from the kids menu with each adult meal purchase of $5 or more.

• Sheetz is featuring a $1.99 "Breakfast Dealz" promotion. 

• Restaurants are offering affordable dinner options to attract couples eating out. Olive Garden, for example, is dishing up a three-course meal special for two at $25.
