When/Where: 7 to 8:15 a.m. Saturday for open registration at the War Memorial Park entrance. Race begins at 8:30 a.m.
Why Go: This run/walkwinds through Sewickley's neighborhoods and finishes the final leg of the race at the War Memorial Park. The race is open to everyone and families are encouraged to participate together. Medals will be awarded. The race benefits the Cardiology Fund at .

Why Go: Support the West Hills Food Pantry by taking part in this annual can drive. Bring canned goods or volunteer to collect non-perishable food items for the pantry, which serves families in need from the Moon, Coraopolis, Crescent and Neville Island communities.

When/Where: 11 a.m to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, 405 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge.
Why Go: Stuffed cabbage, kolbassi with sauerkraut, pirohi, haluski and other home-cooked breads and other foods will be featured along with a performance by the Strolling Balalaikas of Pittsburgh ensemble at 4 p.m. The festival includes an auction and blood-pressure screenings.

Why Go: Save on quality donated and consignment items at the annual fall/winter sale. Items include fall and winter clothes infant to size 14, maternity, toys, books, games, sports equipment, furniture and baby accessories. All proceeds from the sale of donated and consigned items benefit the Mothers of Preschoolers at Christ Church. On Saturday, items are 50 percent off on Saturday. Â

The show is being managed by area antique experts John Kroeck and John Mickinak, and will feature show dealers as well as many interesting newcomers.
