Point State Park’s Christmas Tree | Point State Park is home to the well-known electronic Christmas Tree in Pittsburgh. Located at the “Golden Triangle” of Pittsburgh which is located at the confluence of three rivers, Point State Park is a National Historic Landmark in the state of Pennsylvania.

Winter Flower Show | At the top of your Christmas To-Do list in Pittsburgh should be the Phipp’s Conservatory Winter Flower Show. From LED lights to dazzling props, the Phipp’s Conservatory has put together a stunning display for all ages to enjoy. In addition to the Flower Show is a Light Garden displaying LED lights across trees, fountains, twinkling tunnels, and more. Regardless of how you feel about flowers, you’ll enjoy the holiday decor and lights that display the wonders of winter from the comfort of the conservatory.

Ice Skating | One of the best outdoor activities to do during Christmas time is ice skating. In downtown at the MassMutual Pittsburgh Ice Rink, all ages can come and enjoy time on the ice. While you can ice skate indoors year round, the outdoor experience during the holidays is like no other. Just a few years ago for the 2015-16 holiday season, the original ice rink was replaced with a larger, more unique rink. If you’re a local to Pittsburgh, the MassMutual Pittsburgh Ice Rink is a great option for skating lessons, birthday parties, corporate events, and more.

Kennywood’s Holiday Lights | Kennywood is Pittsburgh’s popular amusement park which may not be your first place that comes to mind when celebrating the holidays. However, Kennywood’s Holiday Lights is a great way to have fun outdoors for yuletide entertainment. From a spectacular light show to local choir performances, Kennywood has something fun for everyone in the family. Even though it’s winter, Kennywood keeps certain rides open to continue the amusement park fun going throughout the season.

PPG Place Wintergarden | The PPG Place Wintergarden is an open, glass atmosphere full of botanicals. The Wintergarden is home to Pittsburgh’s Gingerbread House Display and Competition. Admission to the Gingerbread House display is free, and a great way to see the creative projects from locals of all ages. Senior citizens, students, and even chefs participate in the competition. Although the 2017 competition winners have already been announced, their masterpieces will remain on display to see through January.
