
Someone broke into a parked vehicle over the weekend and stole two pairs of designer sunglasses worth $150 each.
Police said the vehicle owner had just returned home to the 600 block of Broad Street around 10:40 p.m. Saturday, June 22 and had gone inside for about 10 minutes before returning to secure his vehicle.
He saw a juvenile about 15 years old leaning against the passenger door and another juvenile standing nearby. The owner told the two to get away from his vehicle and they began walking toward Centennial Street. Police said the victim then noticed his interior light was on and a pair of Oakley sunglasses and a pair Hogan sunglasses missing.
Police checked the area and two males were stopped in the area of Broad and Beaver streets, but neither fit the description and were released.
In a separate theft, police said a black bicycle valued at $160 was reported stolen on June 14 from the locked bike rack in front of the Sewickley Public Library. Police said the owner returned to find his lock cable in the bushes broken and the bike gone. The bike had no known make or model.

Fire alarm

Police were called at 7 p.m. Monday, June 17 to a home in the 200 block of Beaver St. for a fire alarm. Upon arriving it was discovered that it was burnt food. Â
Police responded at 4 a.m. Saturday, June 22 to Quaker Valley Middle School for a report of a fire alarm. Â The fire department checked the area from where the alarm was coming from and everything seemed to be fine.

Animal complaint
Police received a complaint at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 22 about an animal locked inside a running vehicle with the windows up in the 400 block of Grove Street. Police checked the area but did not locate an animal or vehicle matching the description.
