(Sewickley, Pennsylvania) Known in Western Pennsylvania for its spiritually-integrated mental health therapy, Samaritan Counseling, Guidance, Consulting is offering a renowned mental fitness program—Positive Intelligence®—through our coaching services. Available through an app, the Positive Intelligence® program empowers people to literally retrain their brains to navigate life’s challenges through positivity. Participants learn to shift from negative thoughts to the region of the brain that allows humans to draw from five powers of “Empathy, Exploration, Innovation, Navigation, and Activation.” One of the program’s distinctive lessons teaches “falling in love with ourselves” by connecting with the innocent essence of our younger selves as children. The purpose of the lesson is to counteract the harsh judgements we impose on ourselves and others.

The Positive Intelligence® program is based on research and measurable results and has “included more than a million participants from around the globe.” It provides weekly focus lessons over the course of seven weeks with short, customized, daily exercises along with the guidance of a coach who has been trained through the Positive Intelligence® coaching program. Measurable progress and instant feedback are provided to program participants via the app.

Rachel Fagan, MEd, Samaritan’s life coach, completed the required training to administer the Positive Intelligence® course. With her sharply honed life coaching and teaching skills and passion for helping people improve their lives, Fagan offers guidance, encouragement, and insight to clients as they progress through the app-based lessons. She guides them through identifying and intercepting their negative inner voices or “saboteurs,” while strengthening their positive “mental muscles” or "sages” using the program’s self-command exercises. Practicing these exercises cultivates positive mental habits which lead to better performance, stress management, and overall well-being.

“I completed the Positive Intelligence® program and found it to be a great tool which teaches us how to shift from negative to positive communication, develop empathy toward self and others, and find the silver linings among life’s storms,” said Beth Healey, Samaritan’s director of development and marketing. “I could count on Rachel to help me gain clarity through the parts I found the most challenging and realize when I was being too hard on myself. She kept me motivated to succeed from start to finish.”

The founder and CEO of Positive Intelligence® is Shirzad Chamine, MBA, MA, who after growing up in an abusive home in Iran, developed a deep motivation to change his own self-sabotaging habits and negativity directed toward himself and others. Chamine is the author of the New York Times bestselling Positive Intelligence®: Why Only 20% of Teams and Individuals Achieve Their True Potential and How You Can Achieve Yours.
