Sewickley Academy Does the Harlem Shake

The Internet craze catches on with students doing their own version of the viral video.

Sewickley Academy students are the latest group to get in on the Harlem Shake β€” a dance craze that has gone viral on the Internet.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Harlem Shake, it’s aΒ song by DJ-producer Baauer. The viral videos start with one person in a costume dancing while the people around himΒ continue what they are doing, seemingly oblivious.

About 15 seconds in, the video cuts to an entire room filled with people in various costumes and props jammingΒ along.

The videos have tallied up hundreds of millions of hits on YouTube. The Norwegian army’s version alone is at more than 55 million views.

The original version was created in the 1980s and popularized in the β€˜90s by music mogulΒ Sean β€œDiddy” Combs.

The Academy's version was filmed and uploaded to YouTube on Feb. 23.Β No property was damaged in the making of this video.Β
