• Slippery Rock Main Street lot sale extended to March (butlereagle.com) — Slippery Rock borough council has extended the sale deadline for the 100 S. Main Street parking lot to March 30, 2026, a move tied directly to the 2026 budget and plans to eliminate about $175,000 in debt service. Council debated whether repeated extensions risk the deal, but ultimately voted 5-1 to give the buyer more time while the borough continues covering debt payments until the sale closes. 
• Duke Pursuing Division II Transfer Portal Cornerback (yardbarker.com) — A standout Slippery Rock University cornerback and track star, Kanye Thompson, has entered the transfer portal and is drawing interest from Duke among more than 30 Division I programs.
