A – Distinctive Tile & Stone Design LLC. Showroom featuring porcelain tile, natural stone, glass tile, metal accent tiles. Handmade and hand painted tiles from local artists and custom countertops in granite, quartz and natural stone.

 

Q- Number of years in business?

A-   At present location 4.5 years. Been in business for more than 30 years (previously as Egypt Tile). Debra's sons, Nathan and Eirik Breininger, have an installation business.

Q – What is your specialty?

A – We specialize in helping each and every customer by providing personalized design and product selection. No matter what size the project, we strive to create a functional, timeless and beautiful space.

 

Q – What or who is your biggest competitor and how do you provide better services/products?

A –   As a small boutique showroom we are distinctively different. When you enter our space, we greet you with a smile and are truly interested in finding you the perfect tile for you needs. Style, comfort and function are attainable on any budget, and we are confident that your expectations will not only be met, but exceeded. In-home design service is offered along with exceptional installations.

 

Q – What is your mission statement or philosophy behind running your business?

A-  Excellent service, quality products and imaginative designs, always with a smile.

 

Q – Can you share a story about your business? A triumph or obstacle you’ve overcome, perhaps?

A-  Our sons, Nathan & Eirik Breininger, offer unique, custom quality installations. They are both second generation tile and stone artisans trained by Old World craftsmen. Nathan is a mosaic artist who creates one-of-a-kind medallions and mosaics. His portfolio can be viewed  on www.nathanbreininger.com

 

Q – Is there a history regarding your business you’d like to share?

A-   The family business started in Egypt, Pa., over 28 years ago and  opened its Tilghman Street location 4.5 years ago. Even though the economy was slow, our family decided the time was right to open a boutique showroom. We have been very happy to be part of South Whitehall Township and it has proven to be an excellent location.

 

Q – What are your plans for the future?

A -  Our goal is to continue to make sure that each and every person who walks through our door experiences the very best of what we have to offer. We pride ourselves on our commitment to service and answering our customers' needs.

 

Q - Do you have more than one location?

A -  No.

 

Q – Is this a family owned/operated business?

A -  Yes.

 

Q – Is this a chain or franchise?

A - No.

 

Q - Have you won any awards or had special recognition?

A -  Nathan Breininger was a semifinalist in SAMA Mosaic awards.

 

Q - Did you receive any type of special funding to start up your business?

A -  No.
