Parkland Field Hockey, Story Times at Parkland Library Today in South Whitehall

Here's what going on Wednesday in and around South Whitehall Township.

• The South Whitehall Board of Commissioners will hold a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the administration building, 4444 Walbert Ave.

• Wednesday, Oct. 2 is expected to feature sunny skies and temperatures near 83 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

• PennDOT crews will be inspecting a bridge from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 15th Street and Route 22. Lane restriction on 15th Street in both directions. Crews will be cutting brush from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Orefield Road  between Route 309 and Cedar Crest Boulevard. Lane restriction with flagging. Use caution when traveling through work area.

• Story times have returned to the Parkland Community Library. On Wednesday, family story time runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for children 18 months to three years old. Story time for preschoolers, age three through five, gets underway at 1 p.m. Registration is required. Call 610-398-1361, ext. 19, for more information.

• The Parkland girls field hockey team will host Easton Area High School in a Lehigh Valley Conference game at 5:30 p.m.
