A Linwood man was charged with assault and more after police said he punched a woman multiple times. See details on this and more here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter recently.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Oct. 9 and Oct. 14.

Oct. 9 at 11:34 a.m.
A 36-year-old man from Philadelphia was arrested and charged with Retail Theft after being observed by security at Target at the mall stealing close to $400 worth of toys and food. He was held for arraignment.

Oct. 9 at 6 p.m.
A 42-year-old male with no known address will be charged with Disorderly Conduct after shoppers at the mall reported he harassed them with inappropriate comments and refused to leave.

Oct. 10 at 7:20 a.m.
Officers responded to the Parkway Inn, 600 block of Baltimore Pike, to investigate an assault. A female victim reported that a male with whom she was staying punched her multiple times, causing injury to her head. The male fled the inn and was later located and apprehended in Ridley Twp. The male, Eugene Debeye, 23, of Linwood, was charged with Assault and Drug Possession and later transported to Delaware County Prison.

Oct. 13 at 5:50 p.m.
A resident of the 400 block of Briarhill Road reported his vehicle was struck and damaged by rocks which had been thrown from the trolley tracks behind the house.

Oct. 13 at 7:08 p.m.
Target security at the mall reported a male subject had stolen close to $4,000 worth of electronics and ran out of the store. Responding officers located the subject hiding in the parking lot and took him into custody. Basir Keith, 28, of Philadelphia, was charged with Retail Theft and held for arraignment.

Oct. 13 at 8:15 p.m.
Officers responded to the Parkway Inn, 600 block of Baltimore Pike, for a report of a male with a gun. Upon arrival, they located a male bleeding from his arm and a pellet gun on the ground. The male victim reported that he had been approached in the lot area by another male who was holding a gun and threatening him. The victim defended himself by grabbing the male as his friend used a box cutter knife as defense. The knife injured the victim and the male, who then fled the area. The victim was treated for his injury. Det. McNeely is investigating.

Oct. 13 at 9:34 p.m.
Officers were called to Veterans Memorial Park for a report of a loud group drinking and listening to music. The group fled when seeing police and left behind their speaker and twisted tea drinks. The speaker can be claimed at police headquarters.

Oct. 14 at 8:02 a.m.
The manager of Rite Aid, 100 block of Saxer Avenue, reported several juveniles cracked the front glass door to the business at about 10 p.m. Oct. 13.

Oct. 14 at 8:10 p.m.
A 44-year-oldfemale from Philadelphia will be charged with DUI after Ofc. Lord observed her driving erratically on the 100 block of West Springfield Road. She failed field sobriety tests and refused a blood test.
