Wawa's 1,000th Gas Station Location To Open In Delco Next Week
The opening event will feature Philadelphia Eagles mascot Swoop, Eagles Cheerleaders, the Eagles Drumline, and Wawa Mascot Wally Goose.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Wawa is opening its 1,000th store with fuel in Delaware County next week.
The new store will open at 8 a.m. Dec. 11 at 675 Baltimore Pike in Springfield.
The event will include free t-shirts for the first 250 customers; free any size hot coffee; a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local officials; the announcement of grants from The Wawa Foundation; and a "Hoagies for Heroes" hoagie-building competition between first responders benefitting local charities.

A countdown to the store's opening will begin at about 7:55 p.m. with Philadelphia Eagles mascot Swoop, Eagles Cheerleaders, the Eagles Drumline, and Wawa Mascot Wally Goose.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m.

Springfield Township Police, the Springfield Fire Company, and Philabundance representatives will be among those at the opening event.
The event will also feature a check presentation to the Eagles Autism Foundation and Philabundance
Wawa opened its first store on April 16, 1964, and 32 years later the convenience store added fuel and officially did so in Millsboro, Delaware in August 1996. The beloved chain has more than 1,175 locations across 13 states, including new stores in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia that opened this year.
