Burglary, DUI, Thefts, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

Springfield Police said Safelite was broken into Sunday and that safe money was taken. See details on this and other incidents here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Sept. 19 and Sept. 24.

Sept. 19 at 8:01 p.m.
A resident of the 800 block of North Avenue reported a SE Flyer bicycle stolen from the shed in the rear of the property.

Sept. 22 at 2:10 p.m.
Employees at the Ulta store in the mall reported two females and one male entered the store and each stole a blow-dryer from a display. Det. Cutcliff is investigating.

Sept. 22 at 6:05 p.m.
Officers were called to the 600 block of Baltimore Pike to check on a vehicle which was being driven without a tire on one of its rims. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver identified as a 55-year-old male from Boomall. He was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. He did submit to a test of his blood and was later released.

Sept. 22 at 8 p.m.
A 27-year-old male from Philadelphia will be charged with Retail Theft after being observed by security at Target, 800 block of Baltimore Pike, stealing clothing, fragrance, and electronics totaled close to $300.

Sept. 22 at 9:21 p.m.
Officers responded to a property on the 600 block of East Leamy Avenue to investigate an unwanted person. They located a 45-year-old female who was not authorized to be on the property and who was intoxicated. The female was taken into custody and charged with Public Drunkenness.

Sept. 24 at 8:28 a.m.
Sometime overnight the glass on the rear door of the Nutrition Zone, 100 block of Baltimore Pike, was shattered. It did not appear that anyone entered the business.

Sept. 24 at 4:08 p.m.
The front door to the Safelite business, 200 block of Baltimore Pike, was found to be smashed. Officers checked the interior and found that a money safe and a camera were missing from inside. Det. Cutcliff is investigating.
