Catalytic Converter Thefts, DUI, Assault: Springfield Crime Blotter
A 58-year-old Philadelphia man was taken into custody after police said he assaulted a security worker at Macy's.

A 35-year-old male from Philadelphia was taken into custody by police after Macy’s security at the mall reported he stole multiple jackets from display. The male was processed and released. Charges for Retail Theft will be filed.
Nov. 22 at 10:44 a.m.
A resident of the 300 block of Indian Rock Drive reported sometime overnight someone removed the catalytic converter from his vehicle which was parked in the rear of the property.

Macy’s security at the mall reported they stopped a 66-year-old female from Chester after watching her steal close to $400 worth of jewelry and clothing. Officers took the female into custody, and she was later released. Charges for Retail Theft will be filed.
Nov. 22 at 4:09 p.m.
Macy’s security at the mall reported a male subject had stolen over $1,300 worth of sunglasses and attempted to leave the store. While trying to stop the male, the male assaulted the security guards before they secured him. Officers identified David Kennedy, 58, of Philadelphia, and took him into custody. Kennedy was arraigned and released with unsecured bail.

Nov. 25 at 7:49 a.m.
Officers responded to Sproul Road for a report that a vehicle was swerving from lane to lane while moving south towards Baltimore Pike. The vehicle reportedly drove on the median as it approached Baltimore Pike. The vehicle stopped on the 600 block of North Chester Road and officers made contact with the driver, who was intoxicated. The driver, 35, of Swarthmore, was taken into custody. He refused a blood test and was later released to family. Charges for DUI and traffic offenses will be filed.

Several catalytic converters were removed from vehicles at the Mitsubishi dealership, 300 block of Baltimore Pike sometime overnight.
Nov. 25 at 6:41 p.m.
A patron at the Springfield Mall reported his catalytic converter was removed from his Mitsubishi vehicle sometime after 4:45 p.m.
Nov. 25 at 9:42 p.m.
Officers responded to the Days Inn, 600 block of Baltimore Pike, for a report of a domestic fight between a male and female. Officers made contact with a 36-year-old male from Philadelphia who was intoxicated and was found to have an active arrest warrant from Montgomery County. He was taken into custody and turned over to Montgomery County Sheriffs. Charges for Public Drunkenness will be filed.
Nov. 26 at 4:33 a.m.
A resident of the unit block of North Norwinden Drive reported several subjects had thrown eggs at his house twice during the night. He reported they came back a third time, and he made contact with two of them. Officers responded and identified a 19 year old from Glenolden and a 19 year old from Broomall and found the subjects had come back the third time to retrieve a shoe they left behind. Both males were taken into custody and later released. Charges for Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct will be filed.
Nov. 26 at 8:15 p.m.
A resident of the 500 block of Glendale Circle reported that an unknown subject damaged a decorative lamp from the front walkway area and threw it at the front door of the house.
