Driver Pulled From Burning Car After Delco Crash: Police

A driver was pulled from a vehicle that was on fire after it crashed into a pole in Springfield, police said. One officer was also injured.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — A driver was rescued from a burning vehicle following a crash Friday morning in Delaware County.

Springfield Township Police said officers were called to a crash at the intersection of South State Road and Collins Drive.

There, they found a vehicle crashed into a pole.

Officers then pulled the driver from the vehicle as it burned, police said.

The driver was taken to a hospital. Police did not say what condition the driver was in.

One officer also suffered a minor injury during the incident.

Police said crews are on scene repairing the pole and the wires attached to it.

Drivers in the area should expect minor delays and consider using alternate routes.
