Fighting, Theft, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

A Clifton Heights man was charged after Springfield Police said he got into a fight with another man on West Springfield Road.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Oct. 16 and Oct. 21.

Oct. 16 at 12:57 p.m.
Target security at the mall reported a male subject had just stolen over $150 worth of vitamins and fled the store. Responding officers located the male on the 1100 block of Baltimore Pike and identified him as the suspect. A 38-year-old man from Wallingford was taken into custody and charged with Retail Theft. He was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Delaware County and was transported to Delaware County Prison.

Oct. 16 at 3:06 p.m.
Officers responded to Target at the mall for a report that male subject ran out of the store after stealing over $1,100 worth of clothing and vacuums. Officers observed the suspect running across Baltimore Pike and were able to take him into custody on Wallingford Road. A 36-year-old man from Philadelphia was charged with Retail Theft and held for arraignment.

Oct. 18 at 4:32 p.m.
A member of LAFitness reported a personal bag stolen from his locker containing cash and credit cards.

Oct. 20 at 3:17 p.m.
Officers responded to State Road and Springfield Road to investigate a report of a fight involving two males who exited vehicles at the intersection. The males were no longer on location, however, Marple Police responded to a school in their town and located two males, one of whom was injured. It was found that a road rage incident took place on the 500 block West Springfield Road, which resulted in a physical altercation between two drivers. They re-entered their vehicles and confronted each other again in Marple Township. Charges against a 34-year-old male from Clifton Heights will be filed.

Oct. 21 at 4:13 p.m.
A 35-year-old male from Philadelphia will be charged with Retail Theft after Macy’s security at the mall reported he stole over $300 worth of clothing.
