Gun Possession, Thefts, Vandalism, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

An Olive Garden on Baltimore Pike employee brought a firearm to work and made a veiled threat, Springfield Police said.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Nov. 28 and Dec. 3.

Nov. 28 at 7:07 p.m.
Officers responded to an altercation on the 200 block of Ballymore Road. There they found an intoxicated 47-year-old male from Springfield with a chair from O’Connell’s Tavern. The intoxicated male entered the tavern and was told he would not be served. He then argued with staff and stole a chair before running down Saxer Avenue. The male will be charged with Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct.

Nov. 28 at 8:45 a.m.
Employees at Nothing Bundt Cake, 1000 block of Baltimore Pike, reported someone stole their pressure washer which was outside in the rear of the property.

Nov. 28 at 1:01 p.m.
An unlocked vehicle parked in the rear of Springfield Diner was entered, and prescription medication and cash stolen from inside.

Nov. 29 at 7:30 a.m.
A resident of the 200 block of Parkview Drive reported that all four tires had been slashed on his truck sometime overnight as it was parked on the street.

Nov. 30 at 8:22 a.m.
A vehicle parked on the 500 block of Philmar Court was egged. Upon arrival of police, the eggs were still runny as the egging had recently occurred as appeared to have come from one of the apartments across the street.

Nov. 30 at 6:36 p.m.
A 32-year-old female from Philadelphia will be charged with Retail Theft after security at Macy’s reported she stole over $200 worth of hair products.

Dec. 1 at 6:55 p.m.
An employee of Olive Garden, 1000 block of Baltimore Pike, was arrested for possessing a firearm on the property. Witnesses told police the male employee had shown the firearm and suggested no one disrespect him. Officers located the firearm in a personal bag the male brought with him to work. Frank Griffin, 26, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody and charged with firearms offenses. He was held for arraignment and transported to Delaware County Prison.

Dec. 3 at 9:17 a.m.
A resident of the 1000 block of West Avenue reported the house was egged sometime overnight. This was the second egging in the past week.
