How Diverse is Springfield?

In Springfield, the population comprises nearly 95 percent white residents, nearly 4 percent Asian residents and less than 2 percent black and Hispanic residents according to the American Community Survey. 

The American Community Survey of 2007-2011 is a sampling report sponsored by the U.S. Census Bureau. It documents the races of residents within a given area across a 60 month span of sampling, and the most frequently identified responses were White, Black, American Indian, Asian or Hispanic. The survey process entails the circulation of questionnaires by county and compilation of the data into yearly estimates.
