SEPTA Trolley Riders Hurt When Wires Come Down In Delco
Ten passengers on the trolley and its operator were hurt when overhead wires came down on the trolley in Delaware County Thursday morning.
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Nearly a dozen people were hurt when wires came down on a SEPTA trolley in Delaware County Thursday morning.
The incident unfolded at about 7 a.m. near Scenic Road Station in Springfield, SEPTA said.
A D1/Route 101 trolley was in that area when its overhead power arm became entangled in wires, according to officials.

This caused the wires to come down on top of the trolley.

Ten trolley passengers, and the operator, were hurt in the incident. Three of those hurt were taken to a hospital.
SEPTA said no one was seriously hurt and there was no threat of electric shock to the passengers and operator.
Shuttle buses were supplementing service from Woodland Avenue to Drexel Hill Junction Stations.
