Strong-Arm Robbery, Theft, Vandalism, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

Police said a juvenile was assaulted and robbed by armed men driving motorcycles while he was riding a bike on Baltimore Pike.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Nov. 6 and Nov. 12.

Nov. 6 at 5:16 p.m.
A juvenile resident reported being assaulted and his cell phone, bike, and cash stolen. The victim said he was riding his bike on Baltimore Pike near West Avenue and observed four males on two motorcycles wearing masks. They followed him to North Avenue, where one of the males punched the victim and another male drew a handgun. The victim went home and called police. Det. McNeely is investigating.

Nov. 9 at 12:06 p.m.
A member of LAFitness reported someone broke into his locker by cutting the lock and stole a bag containing clothes and a speaker.

Oct. 10 at 5:57 p.m.
A patron at BJ’s Wholesale, 1200 block of East Woodland Avenue, reported his cell phone and sunglasses stolen from his shopping cart. Investigation found that the female suspect also had committed a retail theft at the store stealing several small electronic items. Det. McNeely is investigating.

Oct. 10 at 7:34 hrs.
Five vehicles parked unoccupied along the 300 block of Harwicke Road were spray-painted with a racial slur sometime after 6:30 p.m. Det. McNeely is investigating.

Oct. 10 at 9:19 p.m.
A 43-year-old female from Feasterville will be charged with Retail Theft after security at Macy’s at the mall reported she stole over $500 worth of merchandise.

Nov. 11 at 12:44 a.m.
Two males were stopped for a curfew investigation on Lynbrooke Road near Norwinden Drive. Both were found in possession of beer and appeared to have been drinking. They were found to be 17 and 18 years old and were turned over to their parents. Charges will be filed.

Nov. 11 at 2:25 p.m.
A resident of the 300 block of Rambling Way reported his fence had been spray-painted with pictures sometime within the last day.

Nov. 11 at 5:03 p.m.
A resident of the 700 block of Avondale Lane reported the driver side front window smashed out sometime after 2 a.m. Nothing was missing from inside.

Nov. 11 at 6:46 p.m.
Target security at the mall reported a female had entered the store and placed over $300 worth of merchandise in a reusable shopping bag and then fled outside to a vehicle. Responding officers stopped the vehicle at the Sproul Road exit and took the female into custody after she backed into a police vehicle. A 47-year-old woman from Springfield was charged with Retail Theft and held for arraignment. She was later taken to Delaware County Prison.

Nov. 12 at 1:56 p.m.
A patron of First Watch, 1000 block of Baltimore Pike, reported she had placed her purse on a chair, and after a period of time noticed it missing. The purse was found in the women’s bathroom, and several credit cards were missing. A short time later the victim was notified about several unauthorized credit card transactions at Target.
