Township RE Tax Increase Proposed

At the November Springfield Township Board of Commissioners meeting three proposed ordinances were presented and approved that will raise Real Estate Taxes, the trash collection fee, and sewer rental charges for 2024.

The township tax rate is proposed to increase from 3.63 mils to 3.92 mils an $87/year increase on a home assessed at $300,000.

The sewer rental fee will increase 55 cents/1000 gallons of water used to $11.25/1000 gallons.

And the trash collection fee will increase to $300 an increase of $20.

Final approval is expected at the Board's December meeting.
