$50 Fee Activities For T/E Moves Forward

The fee proposal will now go to the full T/E School Board for consideration.

The full Tredyffrin-Easttown School Board will consider a proposal to charge a $50 activities fee for middle and high school students involved in most sports and activities.

The proposal passed the board's Finance Committee this week and now goes on to the full school board for consideration.

The participation fee would be charged once for participation in one or more activities during the 2012-2013 school year.  Included in the participation fee are all , and sports and activities that have a paid coach or advisor or use District-funded transportation. crew, ice hockey, rugby, and squash clubs are not included in the proposal.

Students who participate in these activities and who qualify for free or reduced price lunch will be eligible for a waiver.

Fee on the Fast Track

The School Board has scheduled a priority discussion on the sports and activity participation fee at the Monday, April 23, 2012 monthly meeting.

The meeing is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Room 200 of the Tredyffrin/Easttown Administrative Offices located at940 West Valley Road,Wayne,PA.   After the discussion, the Board will vote on the implementation of the fee.  If the participation fee is approved, students and families will be notified prior to the start of the 2012-2013 school year regarding the collection process.
