90 Mins in Hell: New Details in Home Invasion

Update at 5:20 p.m.: Tredyffrin Police say the value of the items taken from the jewelry store is being "placed in the hundreds of thousands of dollars." The value of the items taken from the couple's house is still undetermined but the robbers did get away with credit cards and other "as yet undetermined items with some value."

As the search for at least four violent, masked gunmen continues new information is coming to light about what happened to the owner of Shuler Jewelers and his wife Thursday night at their Tredyffrin Home.

According to police four armed men were lying in wait for the man as he arrived home around 7 p.m. Thursday. Tredyffrin Public Information Officer Detective Sgt.Todd Bereda tells TE Patch that when the man opened the trunk of his car, the armed and masked men emerged from the shadows and led him inside at gunpoint.

Police say that is when the man's wife first saw the armed men.  The robbers bound the couple's hands with duct tape. According to information Tredyffrin detectives have gathered since the incident, the couple was held at gunpoint while two or three of the men ransacked the house looking for jewelry.

The man is driven away while his wife is held at gunpoint.

According to the Tredyffrin Police Public Information officer, two of the attackers then forced the Jewelry store owner, still bound with duct tape, into his 2012 Volkswagen Passat and drove him to the Shuler's Jewlers store in East Norriton.

Meanwhile the man's wife was left in the home with two of the gunmen while the other two went to rob the jewlery store, 11 miles away.  According to police the gunmen stayed in the home in Berwyn until the time that police surmise they got a call from the robbers at the store telling them the robbers were finished at the jeweler's business.

Only then was the wife left alone, still bound with duct tape but physically unhurt, inside the house. The jewelry store owner was also left boud by duct tape inside the store as the robbers fled both crime scenes.

The four gunmen were still on the loose as of 5:15 p.m. Friday.

Police are asking for the pubic's help to find the two vehicles used by the gunmen.

The first is the jeweler/victims' own car: A 2012 White four door Volkswagen Passatt with PA license plate DJM0696. It is registered to the jewelry store (Shuler’s Jewelers) owned by the victims in East Norriton, Montgomery County. Police descirbe the other vehicle as "a silver or blue sedan, possibly a Chrysler sebring" or similar vehicle.

The robbers are described by police as "four black males who were wearing masks and armed with semi-automatic handguns."
