A Paoli Music Legend Remembers Dick Clark
Chubby Checker remembers the man who put him and countless other acts on the pop music map.

Chubby Checker did the Twist on Dick Clark's Bandstand and became a national sensation.
That was 1960. Now the teen from South Philly lives in Paoli and has Dick Clark to thank for the success of the song that made Chubby Checker a household name for a generation.
"The way we dance on the dance floor today happened on American Bandstand, happened with me," Checker told CBS 3 reporter Todd Quinones. Checker, 70, was born Ernest Evans and says Dick Clark's wife came up with the name Checker. "She put the Checker in the Chubby," The Twist star tells CBS 3. "I miss him."
