DEVON, PA—The political ad wars are heating up in Chester County as U.S. Rep Chrissy Houlahan is set to launch her first television ad, “Dreams” Monday afternoon, and her opponent Guy Ciarrocchi, is continuing to run television, cable and digital ads.

Houlahan, a Democratic incumbent, representing the Sixth District, was elected in 2018, taking office in 2019.

In her new television ad, “Dreams,” Houlahan describes how hard it can be as a working mom in the Air Force and operating a business to raise a family without adequate access to affordable childcare. The ad is part of a 7-figure, multi-week advertising purchase across Philadelphia broadcast, cable and digital channels, the campaign announced.

Republican Ciarrocchi said he has been running digital advertising since the primary and is now running a television ad, “Rubber Stamp,” along with cable and digital advertising.

The district covers all of Chester County and portions of southeastern Berks County.

Houlahan’s ads

Houlahan said she is using her life experiences to work with both parties on solutions that make things a little easier for Pennsylvania families.

“That’s one of the reasons why I left the Air Force,” Houlahan said in the ad. “I have seen many parents forced to choose between caring for their child and their job.

“I am proud to have led the successful, bipartisan effort to extend paid parental leave to millions,” she said. “If re-elected I will continue my efforts to lower costs for families and deliver paid parental leave for all working parents.” The ad is available here.

Houlahan said she spearheaded a bipartisan effort to extend 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all federal employees and U.S. service members as part of the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act.
Houlahan said she is also leading the effort to provide paid parental leave for all Americans. She said it would benefit 77% of Americans in the private industry who do not have access to paid leave, helping them participate in the workforce and care for their families.

Ciarrocchi’s ads

In “Rubber Stamp,” Ciarrocchi described Houlahan as a rubber stamp of President Joe Biden.

In his ad, the narrator states that Houlahan supports the president’s destructive policies and families are paying the price - more for gas, electricity and groceries.

The ad states that the agenda of Biden and Houlahan created record inflation.

“We don’t need a rubber stamp for Joe Biden,” the ad states. “We need Our Guy, Guy Ciarrocchi for Congress. Stopping inflation, restoring the American dream, protecting our families.”

Ciarrocchi said in another ad that the election is about the way things are and the way things can be.

He said the important issues are inflation, a weakened economy and crime.

“Houlahan and I have a 180-degree difference between her voting and my positions,” he said. Anyone talking about anything else is missing what the voters truly care about.” Here is Ciarrocchi's ad.
