AirTag Leads To Dumpster In Berwyn Filled With Campaign Signs: Police
The signs were reported stolen by residents along 15 streets in Tredyffrin Township, according to police.
TREDYFFRIN, PA - An AirTag on a Democratic candidate's political sign led Tredyffrin Township police to a Dumpster where an estimated 100 political signs were discovered, police said Friday.
Police are investigating to determine who stole signs reported between Oct. 10 and 13 by homeowners along 15 roadways in the township.
An AirTag is a tracking device developed by Apple used to help users locate personal items.

Police found signs in a Dumpster in the rear of the Valley Fair Shopping Center in the 200 Block of Swedesford Road.

The signs found in the Dumpster belong to Democratic candidates, Josh Shapiro, running for governor; John Fetterman, running for U.S. senate; incumbent U.S. Rep Chrissy Houlahan, and incumbent Pennsylvania Rep. Melissa Shusterman.
Shuterman said she is grateful that the technology resulted in the signs being returned.
“The Tredyffrin Police are aware of this particular incident and I have all the confidence in the world that they will do all that they can to find the parties responsible,” she said.
Theft of movable property under $50 is a misdemeanor which carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $2,500 fine.
Police request that anyone who has home surveillance video in the areas mentioned above or any other information about the thefts to contact the police department via the Chester County Communications Center at 610-644-1440.
