
Devon Prep will host a Middle School Open House for boys interested in grades six, seven or eight on Sunday, March 18 from 1-3 PM on campus at 363 North Valley Forge Road in Devon PA. Visitors can take a tour of the campus, meet faculty and administrators, and talk with students. Â
Devon Prep’s Middle School offers a safe and nurturing environment where students explore ideas, tackle challenging academics and learn to think critically.Â
They have the opportunity to participate on several athletic teams or in any number of clubs and organizations. Throughout their middle school years Devon Prep students develop a positive self- image, strong friendships and the skills for future academic success.

“In Devon Prep’s Middle School each student is treated as an individual and as a human being first, then as a student second,” explains Middle School Director Mr. Barry Brazunas.  “Our dedicated teachers make a huge commitment to their students making sure they receive an excellent education and individual attention.Â
A student cannot get lost in the crowd at Devon Prep.  He can become a significant part of his class and his grade and of the entire Middle School.”  This year more than 75% of Devon Prep’s Middle School students were recognized by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Program. CTY, a world leader in gifted education, conducts national and international talent searches to identify, assess, and recognize outstanding academic talent. Â

More than half of Devon Prep seventh and eighth graders have been inducted into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) which serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character and Citizenship.  In addition 85% of the students in Devon Prep’s Middle School were named to the First Semester Honor Roll. Half of these young men received Distinguished Honors, achieving a grade point average of 3.8 or above. Â
All Middle School students are required to perform 15 hours of community service per semester, but many donate much more time than is required. Â In addition 65% of the sixth, seventh and eighth graders participate on one or more of the Middle School athletic teams, basketball, soccer and baseball. Â
Nearly all of the students are involved in at least one of the 15 activities and clubs available to the Middle School including MATHCOUNTS, Forensics Club, Yo Yo Club, Science Olympiad, Theater, Music, Student Government and more.  “As our students move from Middle School into High School it gets to be much like an extended family.” Brazunas continued. “It can be so reassuring for a parent to know they are sending their child to a safe place, a positive place, a place based on religious, Catholic values.
