Arctic Tales Kick Off Spring Historical Lecture Series
Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust will host 'Chilling Reality: Chester County's Arctic Explorers,' about Chester County residents who braved the arctic, on April 24.

Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust will begin its Spring Lecture Series April 24 with tales of arctic exploration.
Dr. Rob Lukens, president of Chester County Historical Society, will be the presenter for Chilling Reality: Chester County's Arctic Explorers.
Frostbite...polar bears...perpetual darkness...ship-crushing ice...death-defying journeys...These may sound like the makings of a Hollywood feature thriller. But this is the Chilling Reality of Chester County’s Arctic explorers. Explore the stories of four Chester Countians in their quest for northern achievements over an 80-year time span. You may discover that, hidden within their stories of endurance and bravado, are many lessons we can learn about our own 21st century views of the Arctic.
The lecture will be held at the Duportail House at Chesterbrook, starting with refreshments at 7 p.m. and the lecture at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15, available via the THPT website.
