Burglary Bust Sets off Surprising Debate
Patch Readers weigh in on the recent bust of two suspects in a burglary spree

The has tounched off an intense debate among some Patch readers over whether they should be prosecuted or pitied.
At the core of the discussion in the comments section is the question of whether privileged Main Line offspring should be treated any differently than "garden variety" suspects from anywhere else.
The debate brings to the surface a discussion that is often murmured among parents and according to what many teens have told Patch over the past year mocked or at least not taken very seriously among some -not all by any means- teens and young aduts.

- Who is responsible for young people getting involved with drugs?
- Should the children of Main Line parents be given special treatment?
- Who are the real victims here? The "kids" (as one commenter referred to the 22 and 24 year old suspects) who experiment with drugs without realizing it could lead to addicition and perhaps as alleged in this case a crime spree to support a drug habit?
- Who is responsible for getting drug addicts the help they need-families, the police, Chester County.
What do you think? Should police give any special consideration to drug cases when those cases involve local kids and when the news could put a "black eye" on the image of the storied "Main Line" communities that are home to some of the best schools and wealthiest neighborhoods in the region and the nation?
Tell us in the comments section at the bottom of the article.
