Ghibli in Concert: A Piano Four-Hands Celebration

Ghibli in Concert is a family-friendly, multimedia piano four-hands concert celebrating the enchanting music of Studio Ghibli films: My Neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky, Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Kiki’s Delivery Service.

Performed by pianists Ting-Ting Chang and Betty Sawyer, the concert features expressive four-hands arrangements by Joe Hisaishi, accompanied by projected visual storytelling using the library’s built-in projector system. Scenes, still images, and animation art from the Ghibli films will be displayed to enhance the emotional and narrative flow of each piece. The performance integrates live piano, visuals, and narration, guiding audiences through themes of imagination, courage, and hope that define the Ghibli universe. Registration required.
