Cause of Easter House Fire Investigated
Fire company says it could have been much worse.
A combination of proper alarms and quick thinking may have saved a Tredyffrin Township house on Easter Sunday.
According to a report on the Berwyn Fire Company website, it was a case of firefighters being in the right place at the right time when a carbon monoxide alarm went off. According to the report
Assistant Chief Eamon Brazunas was still in the neighborhood after clearing an earlier call in the same area involving a power line that had fallen causing a small grass fire near the street. At the same time, Berwyn Engine 2-2 responded from the Chesterbrook area after assisting Berwyn's Ambulance at a medical emergency.

Firefighters could smell wood burning and saw smoke inside the house just after 6 p.m.. Nobody was home at the time and fire crews had to make a forced entry into the house. They were able to put out the fire in the basement. The cause of the fire is under investgation by the Chester County Fire Marsal's office.
