Choppers, K-9's Highlight Day at Police Camp

For 9-14 year old kids what could be cooler than a helicopter landing before your eyes, or a police dog showing you how he works?

That's what campers at Tredyffrin's Summer Police camp did Thursday morning on day four of the one week morning camp at Wilson Farm park.  Choppers from PennStar and The Pennsylvania State Police landed on the park grounds to give campers and up-close look at what's involved with aerial policing, search and rescue.  A K-9 unit also provided a hands on look at what highly trained police dogs and their handlers do.

In another part of the camp, kids got to see how a courtroom works.

The first year of the new five day camp created by the Tredyffrin Township Police Department wraps up Friday with a certificate-award ceremony, more demonstrations and information and a cook out.
