Crafty Theives Steal from Berwyn Boutique

The search is on for two women who stole $400 worth of dresses from , using pretty brazen techniques. Shop owner Jennifer West tells Patch two women came into the store around 1:45 last Friday, May 11 and were able to hide four dresses valued at $100 each under their skirts before walking out the front door undetected.

Store workers say one of the women distracted a clerk by asking about other dresses and blocking the view of the sales person while the other stuffed the dresses underneath a long skirt that she was wearing.

The women were not familiar customers but were captured on security camera video. There had been a problem accessing the video after the theft was discovered that is being worked on.

A store employee tells Patch she has heard reports that gypsies may be in the area and she wondered if the theives were transients working their way through the area.
