Devon Prep Seniors Honored on First Day of School

Three seniors break school athletic records.

Three Devon Prep seniors began the school year last week by receiving honors for their athletic achievements last Spring.

Benjamin Conser of Audubon and Andrew Brekus of Broomall broke the school record for singles matches won in Tennis. Zachary Schellenger of Malvern broke the school record for the most career strikeouts by a pitcher in Baseball. The first day of school was only a half day for both middle school and upper school students. The rest of the week included full days of classes for everyone.

According to information provided to Patch by the private Catholic college prep school Headmaster Rev. James J. Shea served as the principal celebrant of the opening day Mass las tuesday. He welcomed everyone back to school and introduced the theme for the year, “Blessed are the Clean of Heart, For they will know God.” Fr. Shea also congratulated Middle School Director Mr. Barry Brazunas who began his 45th year in education on that day.

Tuesday's first day of school was only a half day for both middle school and upper school students. The rest of the week included full days of classes for everyone. 

Devon Prep will be hosting an open house for interested families on Sunday, October 13, from 1 to 4 PM, on its 20 acre campus at 363 North Valley Forge Road in Devon, PA. Scholarship/ Entrance Exams are scheduled for Sunday, October 20, Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, December 8, beginning at 8:30 A.M.
