The Easttown supervisors said if a $3 million grant is granted, the station's upgrades would be similar to the Wayne Station, Radnor Twp.
EASTTOWN TWP — The Devon train station in the heart of the Main Line hasn't been updated in nearly two decades.

The station was designed in the late 1800s in English architectural style.
The station is on the R-5 line, which extends about 40 miles from Center City Philadelphia to Thorndale in Chester County. The route is also known as the “Paoli Local.”
The station is also near the grounds of the Devon Horse Show.
Prior to the pandemic, the train carried 21,000 daily commuters. Parking remains free on the station's lot through Dec. 31.
The train stops at Overbrook, Merion, Narberth, Wynnewood, Ardmore, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Rosemont, Villanova, Radnor, Wayne, Devon, Berwyn, Paoli, Malvern, Exton, Downingtown, and Thorndale.
The Wayne station is in Radnor Township.
It was built in the 1880s. The station was upgraded in 1998 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The $27 million Wayne renovation included roof replacements, American Disabilities Access, stairs, ramps and more. The station includes a cafe for commuters to get beverages, pastries and more.
The Easttown supervisors anticipate if a $3 million grant is approved, the station’s upgrades would be similar to the Wayne Station.
