Don't Flush It, Bring It to City Hall.
Tredyffrin Township has a new option for getting ridding of what most people just flush down the toilet without giving it a second thought.

It's something thousands of people flush without ever thinking about. Now Tredyffrin Township says don't do that, bring it to the instead.
The Tredyffrin Township Police Department has teamed up with a local non-profit organization to offer an alernative to flushing or simply throwing out unwanted, expired prescription drugs.
The free service was announced at this week's Tredyffrin Township Board of Supervisor's meeting.

"Area Residents Caring & Helping (ARCH), a local non-profit, has partnered with the Tredyffrin Township Police Department to provide the local community with a safe and convenient way to properly dispose of unneeded and expired prescription drugs. ARCH purchased and the Police Department will maintain the green MedReturn prescription drug collection box that is now installed in the lobby of the Township Building."
Many prescrption drugs that get flushed down the toilet can eventaully end up contaminating drinking water supplies. Presciprtion drugs are often the target of thieves who often look for medicines along with jewelry or other valuables. Prescription drugs can also be a tempting lure for children and teens who may have no idea what they are swallowing, or the serious danger posed by taking dangerous and expired medications.
