Drill: School Shooting At Conestoga High

It was only a drill but the response is very real. Police, fire and detectives from all over Chester County converged on Conestoga High School at midday Tuesday.

Medics and ambulances from Berwyn, Paoli, Radnor, Malvern and police from Tredyffrin, Easttown, Chester County Detectives were called to the scene of a simulated school shooting incident.  The responses times were real because aside from the people coordinating the drill officers working their normal beats did not know when the call would come. (They were aware that there would be a drill).

The Chester County SWAT team was also deployed in the building. The SWAT unit is made up of officers from police departments all over Chester County.

Again, this was only a drill and there was no actual shooting incident at Conestoga High School.

The simulation was designed to be as close to what would happen in a real life scenario as possible. Reporters were held in a containment area across the street from the school. This video includes some bumps as reporters reacted to the rapidly unfolding scene.
