Easttown Library to Undergo Renovation

The library will be adding more public meeting space.

Easttown Library and Information Center will be undergoing renovations beginning this month, the library said Monday.

The library said the renovations are “an effort to meet a demand for more public meeting spaces.”

Two public meeting rooms will be “carved out of what is currently a staff work area behind the reference collection,” the library said.

“We apologize for the inconvenience that this project will cause,” Library Director Alan Silverman said, “However, the addition of more public meeting spaces will help the library meet a growing demand from our customers for work and meeting space, as well as tutoring areas.”

This project is being funded through an anonymous gift to the library and from a bequest from the estate of William F. Ward, a long-time Berwyn resident, the library said.

The library will be open during construction, though the reference collection will be relocated while work is being done.
