Easttown Looking for Volunteer Advisors

The Eastown Citizens Advisory Committee (ECAC) is looking for a few more volunteers to help continue the work of advising township supervisors and staff in township management.

The volunteer committee was formed in 2012 and is designed to have 5-9 members. Right now there are six volunteers and room for three more.

The panel members say they would especially like to have a lawyer and someone with personnel management expertise join the panel.

Over the past year the group has worked on finding efficiencies in the township's pensions, reducing interest on bonds and coming up with a list of other projects that could save the township money and time.

Members of the Board of Supervisors decided several years ago that it would make sense to invite township resident with expertise in a wide variety of businesses to lend their knowledge to the Board. That's the idea behind the ECAC.

The panel meets once a month as a group and has also broken into smaller groups to work on specific area like pensions and bonds and stormwater/sewer management.

If you would like to volunteer, the township would like to hear from you.  Contact Board of Supervisors Chairman Jim Oram at  joram@easttown.org
