BERWYN, PA — Police in Easttown Township are hosting an upcoming event that is aimed at preventing residents from falling victim to scammers and fraudsters.

Easttown Police Detective John Fallon will lead a session on avoiding scams and frauds 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 12.

Attendees will earn how to protect their life savings by recognizing and avoiding scams, many of which originate overseas and are beyond the reach of local law enforcement.

These scams often come through email, the internet, text messages, and phone calls.

The session will be held at the Easttown Township Library.
