Easttown Police Search for More Sign Vandals
The township-owned sign is worth thousands.

Easttown Police are searching for vandals who appear to have taken a baseball bat or other object to a portable "your speed is" sign to one of the township's two signs. Â
Police say the sign that was damaged had been placed on westbound Sugartown Road in front of Devon Elementary School.  According to "police sometime during the evening of Sunday into Monday morning of Monday  someone beat the sign severely damaging the sign and bracket. The cost of the unit is $3,000 which makes the crime a misdemeanor. The sign had been placed there for safety reasons with the new school year starting. It is being processed for evidence."
Easttown Police Chief David Obzud tells Patch that this is the second time one of the two signs has been damaged by vandals. Â If it can't be fixed, township supervisors would have to vote on whether or not to spend the money to replace it. Â
Anyone with information about the sign is asked to call Easttown Police at (610) 341-9780 or 9-1-1.
Â
Easttown Police are also searching for vandals who appear to have kicked a sign in half at Saint Monica Parish in Berwyn. Â Read more about that sign here on TE Patch.
