Easttown Police Warn of Parking Ticket Scam
Official-looking violation notices are being placed on cars with instructions to mail payment to a non-existent government office.
The Easttown Police Department is alerting residents of an apparent parking violation scam targeting residents, according to post on the department’s Facebook page.
The department posted a sample of the faked parking violation notice someone is placing on vehicles and demanding payment. These violations are not being issued by the Easttown Police Department.
The counterfeit notice appears to be expertly created, informing violators they are delinquent with their payments and instruction to mail checks to the P.O. box for an office called the Parking Violations Bureau located in Harrisburg. A Google search of the name reveals no such department in existence.
