"Firecracker" Brownies Behind "'Stoga" Bust
Police say zero tolerance police means exactly what is says for drugs and dealers in Tredyffrin Township.

Drug-laced brownies brought into Conestoga High School ultimately led to the arrest of two suspects at the Daylesford Train Station last Friday night.
Last Thursday a student at Conestoga High School got sick after eating brownies that authorities say were laced with illegal drugs. By Friday night police had arrested two people in connection with the recipe's suspicious ingredient.
Justin Mendenhall, 19, of Exton and Katelyn Anne Jennings, 20, of Burgoyne Court in Wayne were arrested Friday night after detectives posing as potential drug buyers were led to the suspects by text messages. The two will be in District Court in Devon on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.

and the T/E School District to try to stem the flow of illegal drugs through the doors of the school. When the student got sick last Thursday, it didn't take long to follow the evidence to brownies that had been brought to school laced with an illegal substance. From there detectives used text messages to contact the unsuspeting accused supplier of the drugs that were used in the brownies.
Tredyffrin Police Chief Anthony Giaimo says the arrest is part of the township's commitment to a zero tolerance policy when it comes to illegal drugs.

"The drug trade is very lucrative and therefore you get a lot of people who want to sell their wares in this trade," Giaimo tells Patch about this bust. "I think that they were definitely suppliers and we put out in every venue that we can that we have a zero tolerance for this. One is zero tolerance for illegal drugs, but especially selling illegal drugs to our kids."
Giaimo says the student who brought the brownies to school also faces charges as a juvenile. Because that suspect is a minor no details about the teen's identity are being released.
