Firefighter From Paoli Hosp. Deck Story Dies

Members of a Chesco fire company had gone to Paoli Hospital to honor a fellow volunteer when their fire engine partially fell through a parking deck.

The fire company whose engine partially fell through a parking deck at Paoli Hospital on July 12 is mourning the death of the volunteer the truck was there to honor.

According to a posting on the Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company (in West Chester) website, Firefighter James "Jimmy" Graham lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, July 17.

Fire trucks from the Goodwill Fire Company in West Chester had gpne to the hospital on July 12 to honor a dying wish by Graham to be escorted by his firefighting commrades from the hospital to a hospice where would receive end-stage care for his battle with cancer.

Graham, a 25 year volunteer veteran of the fire company, had served in several capacities and is being remembered as a leader and dedicated volunteer public servant.
