Gallery: Company Donates Bridge Paint Job

Over the past week, of Havertown, a residential painting business, donated the labor to re-paint a refurbished covered bridge in the Valley Forge National Historic Park in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County.

The bridge was closed on August 17 and re-opened late Saturday afternoon with new boards on the sides of the bridge and fresh coats of primer and paint all around.

As of Friday afternoon painters at the bridge work site told TE Patch they expected to use around 20 gallons of paint plus about the same number of gallons of primer on the bridge.

Knox covered bridge was built in 1865 to cross the Valley Creek in the Tredyffrin Township section of what's now Valley Forge National Historical Park. The last major refurbishing work on the bridge was done in 1996.
