More Wallet Thefts at Major TE Shopping Ctr

Police Blotter: Wallet thieves strike again, soda machine robbed, huge copper theft.

For the second straight week police are investigating stolen wallets at the Gateway Shopping Center in Tredyffrin Township.

The lastest case was reported to Tredyffrin Township police on Sunday July 22. According to police,  the victim, an employee at an unspecified store in the shopping center" called police to report the theft of their wallet. The theft had occurred the day before. The wallet included ID’s, insurance card and credit card. Over $300.00 worth of fraudulent charges were made on the card." The case is currently under investigation.

What do you use if you want a pepsi and don't want to pay for it? One thief used a crowbar.

According to Tredyffrin Township Police, police responded to the report of a Pepsi soda machine that was broken into.The call came in at 12:44 p.m. on Wednesday July 18. It happened in the 700 block of Lancaster Ave., which is home to the Devon Acme, KMart, Courtyard by Marriott and several other businesses. Police did not specifiy which business owns the Peps machine.

When police arrived "Officers observed heavy crowbar marks on the side of the machine that opens. The amount of money taken is unknown at this time. The complainant also stated that on the previous day, a machine in another township was broken into and had money stolen as well."

 

Copper Wire Stolen on a Large Scale

Industrial Copper thefts are increasing everywhere and on Monday, July 23, thieves hit a business in the 1000 block of W. Swedesford Road in Berwyn. According to Tredyfrin Township Police the call came in at 3:42 Monday afternoon.  According to police,  "The complainant called to report that actor(s) unknown cut the fence and stole over 20 coils of copper wire. One of the coils that was left behind was secured by police as evidence. The total value of the stolen wire is unknown at this time."
