Murder Trial Underway For Slain 2014 Conestoga High Grad
Josephus Davis, of Philadelphia, is on trial for fatally shooting Milan Loncar, a 2014 Conestoga High School graduate.
PHILADELPHIA — A murder trial is underway in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court for a city man in the Jan. 13, 2021 fatal shooting of Milan Loncar, a 2014 Conestoga High School graduate, who was walking his dog in Brewerytown.
Josephus Davis, 21, is on trial, accused of first-degree murder and related charges in the slaying of Loncar, who resided in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin Township and graduated from Temple University in 2019 with an engineering degree. He worked for a construction management firm.
Loncar, 25, was shot at 31st and Jefferson streets when he was walking his dog, Roo, about a block away from his home.

According to an account of the first day of the trial in The Philadelphia Inquirer:
Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore said Davis will be linked to the slaying by a video taken at the scene of a botched robbery.

The prosecutor said the defendant was wearing a distinctive pair of sneakers and a flashy belt that was seen several hours later when Davis was jumping out of a stolen car.
Davis’ lawyer, Douglas Dolfman, countered that the prosecution’s case was weak, noting a lot of people wear eye-catching belts.
